Cuboree Information

Adventure on the water

  1. Sign up for updates on the Whats App Group for your day. Ask us questions if you wish through the group, as others may also wish to know the answers also.
  2. You will start at either Boondall or Brownsea, then travel to the second location on foot or via watercraft. Options will exist for the more adventurous and the less adventurous. Identify your team as Bear Grills for the more adventurous when you arrive.
  • Ensure your team has water bottles, snacks, hats, closed in shoes that can get wet before you get on the bus. We suggest travelling light as there is some walking involved.
  • You will be given a dry bag with a small first aid kit, and tracker, for you to also store things like a phone.
  • You will need to be at the bus pickup by  {insert time here} forThe buse the busses tos will deliver you at your starting point by 9:00am. The buses will pick you up from 2:00 pm at the alternate location to where you were dropped off.
  • The day will include a combination of water activities  (rafting, canoeing, power boating, pirate, ship, Viking ships, water play, plant identification, treasure hunting) run by our Brownsea Water Activities Centre (Brownsea) leaders.

  • and environment based  land activities (e.g. a foreshore walk) , run by the Line leaders, with instructions and materials provided.

  • We are also including some “Zen Zone Yoga in Nature” along the way to include a bit of a chill-out opportunity.
  • Lunch is Pizza provided along your journey.  Weather permitting the location for this will be the Public Ramp.  Portion = HALF a pizza per person.  Other diets will be catered from Cuboree BY
  • We will have hoses to wash any mud off feet before entering the bus, as well as providing rubbish bags for wet stuff.

In an emergency follow DRSABCD, call 000 for Life threatening Injuries or Illnesses, then contact the Welfare/ team, to assist with getting help to you.

A communications person, a site Managers at each site, Welfare and CSSO will be available for you to contact for support.

Child Safety @ Brownsea and Boondall

  • We will have youth toileting and change facilities at Brownsea separate to adults from 9 to 2pm
  • Adults will use next doors Maritime Safety Queensland Toilets from 9 to 2pm
  • Brownsea Staff will be easily identifiable with fluoro hats with walk the plank badges
  • Boondall and the Public Ramp are shared with the public. Two deep for all facilities. Take a Buddy!
  • First Aid Shelter, Water and dedicated Welfare will be available on each site

  2. The Public Ramp has Toilets
  3. Brownsea and MSQ Sandgate has Toilets (Youth to Brownsea, Adults to MSQ)
